Beer Cure for a Cold?

I've Googled this but got nothing decent. Does anyone know any cures for a cold that involve beer?
If you can have hot whiskey, port, brandy, etc. then can you do the same with beer?
If so, then what beer would be best?
I don't want to waste beer by experimenting.
I need a cure.
Help!

    Stick to the whisk(e)y mate - I usually used Jameson or Tullamore Dew, can't bring myself to use Talisker in a hot toddy. Can't think of any beer cure at all, other than staying in the pub and not going out in the rain.

    You're probably right.
    Having said that I might try some experimentation later. I might come up with a new wonder cure!
